Matt Lapinskas left in agony after Gareth Thomas accidentally knees him in the groin during Dancing On Ice rehearsal

Now that the first round is out of the way, it seems that the competition on Dancing On Ice is really starting to heat up.
And contestant Matt Lapinskas bore the brunt of Gareth Thomas's competitive side during rehearsals on Wednesday, ending up writhing in agony on the floor after a move went wrong.
The former EastEnders star got kneed in the groin by the burly rugby player while they practiced for a group dance, sending him crashing to the floor in pain.

The two stars have been paired up to perform in a skating 'battle' on Sunday night's show in a bid to be saved from the dreaded skate-off.
But hopefully the live performance will be a little less ferocious than in rehearsals, where the collision between the two celebrities ended in disaster.
In what looked like a strange skating move, Gareth caught Matt right between the legs, sending him flying through the air and then crashing to the ground.

But far from being remorseful about the mishap, the Welsh sportsman burst into laughter as Matt double over in agony on the ice, clearly in a lot of pain.
Obviously pleased about taking out his competition, Gareth later pulled a gun hand gesture and pointed it at Matt's head, grinning to himself.
But proving that a little pain can't keep him down, the soap star was straight back up and skating around the rink again in no time, rehearsing with partner Brianne Delcourt.

The pair joined by with Gareth and his partner Robin Johnstone for a group skate, which involved what looked like a dramatic fight sequence.
Matt's not the only contestant to have suffered for the hit ITV show, as Anthea Turner admitted that she'd injured her ribs just a few days ago.
