Based in Washington, this American multinational e-commerce company is the world’s largest online retailer. It started off as bookstore but soon went off to sell software, electronics and DVDs. It was founded in 1994 by Jess Bezos and is available in languages such as German and Chinese. Kindle also sells its very own products such as the Kindle.

The company was founded in 1892 and one of the co-founders was Thomas Edison himself! Today the conglomerate operates worldwide and has received awards such as No. 15 Most Admired Company and No. 19 Most Innovative Company.

It stands for International Business Machines and is an American multinational that specializes in technology and consulting corporation. The company was founded in 1911 by Charles Ranlett Flint and is headquartered in New York. IBM won the title of “Second Largest U.S Employer” with an employee count of more than 425,000.

This American multinational is known for being the largest retailer in the world and operates large discount department and warehouse stores in various countries. It is the world’s largest employer in the world, with its employees amounting to over 2 million. The company is owned by the Walton family which makes Wal-Mart a family-owned business.

Another American multinational company but that specializes in developing, manufacturing, licensing and supporting a vast array of products with regards to computers. Founded on April 4, 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, Microsoft is today the world’s largest software manufacturer in terms of revenues. The company has a total of more than 400 retail stores worldwide.
