Who's That Girl? Introducing Kati Nescher
Kati Nescher has landed her debut British Vogue cover for the February issue. It has been a busy few months for Russian-born model - the 27-year-old had a stellar show season, appearing on countless catwalks across the New York, Milan and Paris schedules. From opening Karl Lagerfeld's spring/summer 2013 Chanel extravaganza to closing the BCBG Max Azria show, the 27-year-old's chameleon-like qualities fahave made her a resounding hit with casting agents.
Unlike many of her modelling contemporaries, Nescher wasn't discovered while sitting in an airport lounge or shopping in Primark as a young teen - rather, she approached an agency herself when she was well into her mid-Twenties and already had a young son - giving up a career in Russian and German translation in the process.
Her first show season - for spring/summer 2012 - saw her walk for everyone from Stella McCartney to Yves Saint Laurent. The following year, she starred in advertising campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Pringle of Scotland and Tom Ford Eyewear, to name but a few. Known for her strong profile and killer cheekbones, the model mother has been catapulted to international success within two years of being signed - making her our must-know model of 2013. The February issue of Vogue hits newsstands nationwide on Wednesday January 9.
