Top 10 Batsmen with 10,000 Runs in ODI. List of 2013


One Day International (ODI) (or Limited Overs Internationals (LOI) is a form of cricket, in which 50 overs are played per side between two national cricket teams.
There are Ten batsman from seven different countries have scored more than 10,000 runs in One Day International circket.
1. Sachin Tendulkar (18,176 runs)
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born 24 April 1973 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He was started to bat in the age of 16, and now his total score in ODIs has been reached upto 18, 421 in 463 matches with a  strike rate of 86.19 and for this he has scored 49 centuries96 half centuries. The Master Blaster is also the first player to score 10,000 runs in ODIs.
2. Ricky Ponting (13,697 runs)
Ricky Ponting  was born on 19 December, 1974, in Launceston, Tasmania.He is a former skipper of Aussies, and scored 13,686 runs in ODIs with 30 centuries and 82 half centuries in 374 One Day Internationals.  Ponting was the only batsman who can cross Sachin Tendulkar in this list of top 10 batsmen of world to cross 10,000. Ponting is also one of the best Australian Captains. Under his captaincy, the team won 2 ICC Cricket World cups in the year 2003 and 2007.
3. Sanath Jayasuriya (13,430 runs)
Sanath Jayasuriya

Sanath Teran Jayasuriya born 30 June 1969. He is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and a politician. With an average of 32.36, the former Sri Lankan captain scored 13430 runs in 445 matches. He hit 28 centuries and 68 half centuries and has a strike rate of 91.21. The left hand batsman and a left-arm spin bowler has a highest score of 189 runs and has also captured 323 wickets in his ODI career.
4. Inzamam-ul-Haq (11,739 runs) 
 Inzamam-ul-Haq was born 3 March 1970. He Played 378 matches and scored 11739 runs with an average of 39.52. With a strike rate of 74.24, he hit 10 centuries and 83 half centuries.  Inzamam-ul-Haq was a leading batsman and the captain of the Pakitan National Cricket team from  2003 to 2007. He is the second-highest run scorer for Pakistan in Test Cricket after Javed Miandad .
5. Jacques Kallis (11,481 runs)
Jacques Kallis was born on 16 October 1975. As an all rounder he is a right handed batsman and fast medium bowler.He is one of the greatest all-rounders of all time. He played 319 matches he scored 11481 runs with an average of 45.55. With a strike rate of 72.96, Kallis scored 17 centuries and 85 half centuries. His highest score is 139 runs.
6. Sourav Ganguly (11,363 runs)
 Sourav Ganguly was born on 8 July 1972. He is a former indian cricketer and the captain of india national cricket team. He started his career by playing in state and school teams. In 311 matches, he scored 11363 runs with 22 centuries and 72 half centuries. He had an average of 41.02 runs and a strike rate of 73.70. 183 runs is his highest score.
7. Rahul Dravid (10,889 runs)
 Rahul Dravid was born on 11 January 1973. He is a former indian cricketer and captain of indian test and ODIs. He was the second player, after Sachin tendulkar.  to reach 13,000 runs in Test cricket.The 39 year old batsman has played 344 matches in which he scored 10889 runs inclusive of 12 centuries and 83 half centuries. With an average of 39.16, his best score is 153 runs. Recently, he has retired for the ODIs and test cricket also.
8. Brian Lara (10,405)
Brian Charles Lara was born on 02, 1969. He is a fromer west indian  internationa cricket player. He is generally regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all time.The 42 year old legendary batsman from West Indies holds numerous records in his cricket career. He has scored 10405 runs in 299 ODIs, which include 19 centuries and 63 half centuries. His highest score is 144 runs and has an average of 33.44.
9. Mahela Jayawardene (10,235)
Mahela Jayawardene was born on 27 May 1977. He is the Captain of  Srilankan Cricket team. He is a specialist Batsman.  The 34 year old batsman has played 363 ODIs till date and scored 10235 runs including 15 centuries and 63 half centuries. His highest score is 169 runs and has an average of 40.48. He has a strike rate of 77.58.
10. Kumar Sangakkara (10,019)
Kumar Sangakkara was born on 27 October 1977. He is Sri lankan Cricketer and a former captain of the Sri Lankan national cricket team.He is a left-handed top-order batsman and wicket keeper in ODIs. Sangakkara the 34-year-old batsmen has played in 315 matches and scored 10019 runs with an average of 37.80.He scored 35 runs With 12 centuries and 67 half centuries, his best ODI score is unbeaten 138
