A look inside Miss America contestants' fridges reveals how they stay in shape
The Miss America hopefuls have opened up their fridges to TV cameras, offering a glimpse of the diets that keep them in pageant-ready shape.
As they prepare for this weekend's competition final, four of the girls revealed their daily essentials, which largely seem to consist of eggs and milk.
One could barely contain her disgust as she told ABC News how her personal trainer had recommended she drink Muscle Milk protein shakes after her workouts.
Gross! A Miss America contestant admits she can't stomach the taste of Muscle Milk protein shakes
'It's like a post-workout protein drink that I really thought I might like,' she said.
'Josh, my trainer told me, he's like, "Drink muscle milk after every workout!" And I tried! I really gave it a good go! I just hate it. It's gross.'
Another contestant reveals egg whites to be her go-to. And the two dozen eggs on her top shelf prove this to be the case.

Dairy queen: 'We usually have, like, four gallons of milk in here at one time,' one girl tells the camera. 'We probably need to consolidate our milk products'
Luckily she admits, she has a taste for them.
'Egg whites are wonderful,' she says. 'And actually I've gotten to really like them, so, it's a good thing.'
Out of sight is apparently a stack of yogurts too.
'I love Chobani Greek Yogurt in the blueberry flavor,' she continues. 'If you can't tell, because I have plenty of that.'
Rationing: One girl admits a taste for full-fat dairy: 'I love my vitamin D whole milk,' she says
The white stuff: From soy milk to chocolate milk, the Miss America girls like to keep up on calcium intake
Milk is very much the go-to for many of the girls though. It is not quite clear how many share each apartment, but the quantities are large, regardless.

Soy milk is a popular choice, and among all the more health-conscious options, there is a large container of chocolate milk in one fridge.
What they don't admit they eat: Also on the refrigerator shelves is a tub of hummus and a carton of leftover take-out (left) and a selection of preserves (right)
The good and the bad: Yogurt, salad and low-fat cheese slices are stocked up in one healthy eater's fridge (left), while another apparently has a weakness for cookies and waffles (right)
Not all the contestants favor it as a healthy go-to though.
As one explains: 'I do love my milk and I don't really drink it as much because I learned ... that it's calories that you don't need, but I'll have it as a treat. I love my vitamin D whole milk.'
The Miss America pageant is taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada, where GMA's Sam Champion and Olympic champion McKayla Maroney are judging preliminary rounds.
The full event will air on Saturday on ABC.
