Top 10 Funniest/Commedy Movies of Bollywood

They don’t say that laughter is the best medicine for nothing. After all, who doesn’t like a good comedy to tickle their funny bone and perk up their spirits? we decided to bring you a list of this decade’s funniest movies that had us rolling on the floor laughing (ROFL).

10 – GolMaal Series – 2006, 2008, 2010

10 – GolMaal Series – 2006, 2008, 2010
Golmaal, Golmaal Returns and Golmaal 3… it wouldn’t be wrong to say that director Rohit Shetty gave Bollywood its very first trilogy with the Golmaal series. All three films were hilarious to the core. Not to forget Tusshar Kapoor’s ‘dumb’ act, it was brilliant.

09 – One two three (2008)

09 – One two three (2008)
One Two Three is a 2008 Bollywood film that is an uncredited remake of the Hollywood movie Blame it on the Bellboywhich is about three men staying in the same hotel and have similar sounding surnames. One Two Three stars Tushar Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Esha Deol, Sameera Reddy, Upen Patel, Neetu Chandra and Tanisha. It revolves around three men who share the same name — Laxmi Narayan.

08 – Bheja Fry (2007)

08 – Bheja Fry (2007)
The penultimate in the series is Bheja Fry, a remake of a French movie.
The low budget film was a success at the box office courtesy brilliant performances from all the characters, especially Rajat Kapoor and Vinay Pathak.

07 – Awara Paagal Deewana (2002)

07 – Awara Paagal Deewana (2002)
It’s probably the only comedy film that director Vikram Bhatt has ever made. But boy did he get it right! It’s not just the title which more or less means Crazy Crazy Crazy, the movie is zany too. And although Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Johnny Lever give a rip-roaring performance, the movie definitely belongs to Paresh Rawal. He is a riot with his henpecked husband act. The movie was not an outstanding hit but we liked it nonetheless!

06 – Hungama (2003)

06 – Hungama (2003)
From Paresh Rawal’s bickering act to Akshaye Khanna’s cocky one, Hungama is a perfect example of comedy of errors. The movie wasn’t a box office hit, but damn us if you watch it and don’t like it!

05 – No Entry (2005)

05 – No Entry (2005)
Salman Khan simply has a natural flair for comedy (and no he doesn’t need Bigg Boss to validate it). Having said that, it’s actually Anil Kapoor who steals the show with his impeccable comic timing. There is not a single boring moment in this Anees Bazmee movie. The jokes just keep on coming till, like we said before, we ROFL!

04 – Dhamaal (2007)

04 – Dhamaal (2007)
Director Indra Kumar took some heavy ‘inspiration’ from American movies like It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World and Rat Race; but we are not complaining. He did a splendid job and so did Ritesh Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and Sanjay Dutt. Together they were uproarious.

03 – Munnabhai series

03 – Munnabhai series
It’s hard to pick a favourite between Munnabhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munnabhai and that’s why we are choosing both the films. Because only once in a while comes a movie that fills you with so much positivity and makes you laugh at the same time. Bole toh hats off to the acting by Munnabhai-Circuit jodi (Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi) and of course director Rajkumar Hirani who executed the movie brilliantly.

02 – 3 Idiots (2009)

02 – 3 Idiots (2009)
Aren’t you always tired of hearing, “Leave your brains behind for this movie”? Well thank god, or thank director Raju Hirani, for breaking that mindless-movie mold. 3 Idiots not only makes you laugh but it makes you cry and it makes you think as well. With a strong social message (students committing suicide), the movie has one of Aamir Khan’s best performances ever.

01 – Hera Pheri (2000)

01 – Hera Pheri (2000)
Kabira speaking. Hera Pheri needs no introduction. Two full-fledged action heroes, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, doing a comedy movie together would have had everyone doubting the Laughing Out Loud (LOL) factor. But not only did they prove everyone wrong but together with their de-glamorised common men roles they redefined the genre of comedy. Of course most of the credit goes to director Priyadarshan who is a master in making movies based on comedy.
