They were reported to have ended their relationship in January because they ‘grew apart’ after two years of dating. But it seems Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult might be giving their romance another go, as the pair were photographed leaving a Hollywood restaurant together on Monday night following a romantic dinner date.

The pair attempted to avoid being photographed by leaving The Little Door eatery via the rear exit, but were snapped as they got into the actress’ waiting car.

Both Jennifer, 22, and 23-year-old British actor Nicholas tried to keep their heads down as they made their way to the vehicle, but appeared in good spirits following the evening together. Oscar-winning Silver Linings Playbook star Jenniferopted for black trousers and a sheer cream lace top with a black blazer to meet up with her ex, while Nicholas went for olive green trousers and a khaki jacket.

Jennifer also continued to show off her new haircut – a vast change from the long locks Nicholas will have grown used to seeing the actress with. She wore her newly-shorn hair in tousled curls, and finished off her outfit with a pair of black sandals and a fringed bag. Jennifer also appeared to have come prepared in case the romantic meeting was a disaster – clutching a copy of classic novel Anna Karenina as she left the restaurant.

The actress has previously spoken of her love for the book, saying: ‘I really wasn’t expecting to like it. I thought I wouldn’t want to finish an 800-page book, but then I started slowing down and reading the same chapters over and over. You fall in love with the characters; you grow up with them.’ Of course, it cold be that Jennifer and Nicholas are not giving their relationship another go, but are just friends, as they are currently working together on X-Men prequel follow-up Days Of Future Past.

The pair first met on the set of the first prequel, First Class, and were open about their romance following their first date. Speaking to Elle magazine last December, Jennifer said: ‘My boyfriend is honestly my best friend, and hopefully I’m his best friend too. ‘He’s my favorite person to be around and he makes me laugh harder than anybody.’

And despite claims that the reason behind the pair ending their relationship was just that they ‘grew apart’, Jennifer and Nicholas remained friends following their split – with the About A Boy star even congratulating his ex when she won an Oscar for Silver Linings. Speaking after the awards ceremony, Nicholas said: ‘I’m very, very happy for her… I’m thrilled.’ He also added the relationship in a previous interview: ‘Romance is something that you can get caught up in very easily because it feels very exciting and new every time.

‘But once you’re settled in it, and you really have grown to know a person, then there’s a sense of safety and settlement, which I like very much.’ – Dailymail
