Katy Perry flashes heart shaped ruby ring on her engagement finger at Valentine's dinner with John Mayer
Katy Perry isn't log divorced from verbose comedian Russell Brand but she was spotted leaving her Valentine's meal with lover John Mayer sporting an engagement ring.
Okay, it might not be an engagement ring, but it's a ruby in the shape of a heart on the finger traditionally reserved for engagement rings.
And we all know that despite the fondness for PVC dresses, Perry, 28, is quite the traditional.

She and Mayer, 35, have been going great guns, too, and despite one alleged short break, seem happy, together and terribly well suited.

Mayer took Katy Perry out for Valentine's Day on Thursday night at Vincenti restaurant in Brentwood and the singer decided to dress to impress for the evening out.
The star wore a pretty cream and red patterned vintage full-length gown as the pair headed for a bite to eat at The Cut restaurant in Brentwood, California.

Katy wore a cream ribbon around her middle to highlight her tiny waist, and teamed the dress with a pair of black heels, and a matching black handbag.
The Wide Awake singer finished off her ensemble by wearing her raven black hair in loose waves, and accessorised with gold jewellery.
And it seems as though it was a successful first Valentine's Day for the pair, as Katy beamed while leaving the restaurant clutching a Fred Segal bag which appeared to be full of presents.

However, while his stunning girlfriend dressed up for the occasion, John went for a typically eccentric look - teaming his smart grey trousers with a casual denim jacket and colorful striped scarf.
The singer finished off his ensemble with a tan bag worn across his body.
And it's been a busy week for the pair, who were also spotted enjoying a pre-Valentine's Day dinner on Tuesday night at Katsuya in Brentwood.

The holiday marks John and Katy's first Valentine's together, but seems to be setting a precedent for a lot more to come.
According to reports, the couple, who have been dating on and off since Katy's divorce from Russell Brand, are going from strength to strength - especially after John hit it off with Katy's parents.
A source said: 'Katy has never been happier. She’s in a really good place with John. Katy’s parents also really like John. They prefer him over Russell.
