Sofia Vergara welcomes on-screen new baby son in dramatic episode of TV comedy
She filmed for several weeks last year wearing a prosthetic baby bump in hit TV comedy show Modern Family.
And on Wednesday night, Sofia Vergara delivered her bundle of joy, in the guise of her alter-ego Gloria Delgado-Pritchett of course.
In a dramatic episode of the show, Gloria begins to go into labour during a surprise party for her son Manny.

Unable to hold the baby in - as part of an attempt not to ruin Manny's 14th birthday party, Gloria ends up giving birth to a beautiful baby boy.
And despite her lack of make-up and hospital gown, Sofia still looked stunning as she held the baby and kissed his feet while on-screen husband Jay (Ed O'Neill) and son Manny (Rico Rodriguez) visited.

'It's going to change for me, because then, actually my hours of shooting with Ed and Rico [Rodriguez], they're very fast, because we come prepared, she told Katie Couric.
'We do it fast - Ed is very professional, and Rico too, he's like an adult. And now, with a baby, it's going to be double because they cry, and then, 'Bring the other one, bring the new one, the diaper' - so we're dreading it.'

In reality, Sofia is mother to 22-year-old Manolo, and is engaged to boyfriend Nick Loeb, but is not planning to have any more children just yet.
'Maybe next year I could think about it,' she said.
