Omega’s Speedmaster Limited Edition watch celebrates the last Moon Landing
The Speedmaster ‘Moonwatch’ is one of Omega’s most iconic and popular watches without a doubt and the brand continuously churns out timepieces dedicated to the astronauts who landed on the moon. The latest Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo XVII limited edition watch, of which only 1,972 pieces will be released, marks the 40th anniversary of the most recent moon landing in 1972 when Eugene Cernon walked on the moon (the last man to have done so). He is an Omega brand ambassador today. The dial of this model has been replaced with a sterling silver engraving of the Apollo XVII mission patch while retaining the hands and markers. Each limited edition piece boasts of a unique case back as well. Other features of this exceptional timepiece include a 42mm wide steel case and bracelet and caliber 1861 manually wound chronograph movement that was in the watches that went on the moon.
This is yet another home run from the brand which has always produced interesting and unique marvels. It is our prediction that this one will fly off the racks in no time! – Luxurylaunches
